UOS clarifies PnP tuna status

The kashrut department of the Beth Din issued a warning related to tins of Pick n Pay tuna (shredded and chunks in salt water) - the OU Hechsher is okay with regard to the kashrut on this product - but without the local Beth Din's diamond logo it is not BISHUL YISRAEL!

Repeat this three times in your mind as we are used to not giving such situations a second thought!

The Beth Din says that (their capitals):

“Pick n Pay tuna (shredded and chunks in salt water) is PAREV, KOSHER FOR PASSOVER and BISHUL YISRAEL when bearing BETH DIN LOGO (not the OU) and the production date (is) 01/2011.

Sorry Ant, the wording of

Sorry Ant, the wording of the announcement was confusing. The OU on PnP tuna is 100% okay, its 100% kosher.
What the notice meant to say was the tuna with the OU is not "Bishul Yisrael" (a stringency required by some people who prefer "mehadrin"). Although it's not "Bishul Yisrael" (with the OU), its's still 100% kosher.
The comment "(not the OU)" referred to bishul yisrael only and not it's kosher status.
Tuna with the BD logo is Bishul Yisrael.
