Shtetlers have a chance to win one of three copies of best-seller Sharon Lurie’s stunning new cookbook – Celebrating With The Kosher Butcher’s Wife! The sooner you put your name down, the more chance you have of winning one of the three weekly draws.
Please note that as with all competitions on MyShtetl, this competition is only for registered MyShtetl users – not for visiting users.
One lucky Shtetler will win a copy of the book each Wednesday, starting on 9 March. Each week all of the entries to date will go into the draw. So, Shtetlers, the sooner you enter the more chance you have of winning.
HOW DO YOU ENTER? Just ask! It's really as simple as that. If you are a registered user and are logged in, just click on the “COMMENT” tab below the story and tell us why you would like this book. It really is as simple as that!
Who knows, this could be your lucky day! Or the next Wednesday. Or the next.
Each of the prize-winning copies will be signed with a personal message from Sharon to the winner (or if it is going to be a gift, to the person you will be giving it to). How cool is that?
Read the REVIEW OF THE NEW BOOK, CELEBRATING WITH THE KOSHER BUTCHER’S WIFE. After the success of her first book, Sharon Lurie, the author of the best seller and Gourmand award winning, ‘Cooking with the Kosher Butcher's Wife', has just launched her second book in South Africa ‘Celebrating with the Kosher Butcher's Wife.’ Here, Sharon takes customary kosher cooking for Shabbas and Chagim to a whole new level as "trendy traditional cuisine!"
Shtetlers can also read our REVIEW OF THE FIRST BOOK - and check out some of Sharon’s delicious RECIPES FROM THE FIRST BOOK which were published on MyShtetl.
We will also be publishing some stunning recipes from the new book, starting with one for Purim later this week.
So, Shtetlers, be the first to post your comment below and have three chances to win your own personalised copy!
IT IS SO SIMPLE TO ENTER: Just ask! Simply go to the “Post New Comment” window below this page (while you are logged-in** as a user), post a comment telling us why you would like a copy of the book (you can just say “I WANT IT BECAUSE I WANT IT!”), and you will go into our weekly draws.
One lucky Shtetler a week who has posted their comment while logged-in will be drawn on weekly from Wednesday 9 March and will win this magnificent prize! The winner will be notified by e-mail immediately and will be announced in our newsletter on the Thursday (10, 17 & 24 March).
DON’T BE TECHNOPHOBIC!: Don’t miss your chance to win one of these books just because you are technophobic. Or, CLICK here: info@myshtetl.co.za and send an e-mail to us. We will do it for you.

I'm trying to collect
I'm trying to collect cookbooks that'll really be useful, not just fill the shelf... this one looks like a keeper :)
I'm trying to collect every
I'm trying to collect every elusive Jewish recipe I can find and this book might just have a few. I can't buy every single book, but I'd like to. Maybe a freebie now and then would help keep me motivated and my guests super happy.
Consider the risks of not giving me one! It might just be your stomach turning one day because I followed the wrong Butcher's Wife's ideas!

I have two reasons:
1) I do all the cooking at home (with tremendous help from my wife) and would like to dazzle her with something new. Winning the book would be an excersise in Shalom Bayit, a very noteworthy and important mitzvah, one which you could have a hand in. God loves people who help others keep mitzvot - just ask Jacob Zuma.
2) Working in the field of kashrut and related products, I am eager to see how all (or many) of the products which I know so dearly all come together to create these dishes. And I can also then follow up on non-paying manufacturers who appear in the book.
I would like to reciprocate
I would like to reciprocate to all the people who invite me for dinner every Shabbat and YomTov, but I don't have the ability to do so, being a bachelor who lives on his own. I'm sure this book will focus my creativity and prompt me to experiment, enjoy and invte.

Would love to own such a fantastic recipe book. My cooking ability is nil and I love having family and friends over for Shabbat. If I had that wonderful book, I could warm up my friends with delicious recipes. And then maybe, just maybe, I may get some invites to them!

I am about to start the process of kashering my kitchen. This would be a brilliant addition to my new kitchen... I would love my first kosher cooked meal to come from this book! I've been dying to invite friends over for a kosher meal, and this book sounds perfect for that :)
This would be another great
This would be another great way to enhance our Shabbos table and the many guests who grace it.

Celebrating With The
Celebrating With The Butchers' Wife is the cook-book that I would like to present my wife with. Not because she can't cook, but because she is an excellent cook who loves to try new recipes all the time. She has lots of cook-books, but she doesn't have this one. During our 50 years of marriage she has kept a Kosher home, and enjoys trying new cook-books.

Thanks, MyShtetl, for the terrific website and these cool competitions.
I'd love to give a copy of the book to my mom, but she has told me in no uncertain terms not to BUY her any more cook books. She didn't say I can't enter competitions to win her a cookbook, though.
