Story and pictures by LAINE WALLDORF
Last week the Israel Centre attended the King David career evening at the HOD centre. Along with a number of other post high school options, the Israel Centre represented Masa at this evening.
The aim of this evening was to ensure students in Grades 11 and 12 were aware of the options available to them after high school - whether it be a gap year or working towards a degree or diploma.
Masa is an umbrella organisation of over 165 long term programs in Israel for young adults. These programs enable young Jews from around the world to establish a lifelong connection to Israel, thus enhancing their Jewish identity. MASA provides young Jewish adults with grants and scholarships towards program fees, as well as support, activities, workshops and resources whilst in Israel.
There was a lot of interest shown at this evening. Many young adults are considering their options in Israel. Whether they choose to study in English or perhaps Hebrew or even participate in the Marva programme, there is a plan to suit each individual.
With a myriad of choices and solutions for everyone, Israel is the natural choice. The Israel centre does its best to match the most suitable programme to the individual, subject to his/her needs.
