The King David Schools’ Foundation and the Brest family are proud and privileged to host former Davidians Mark Samowitz (KDHSVP 1996) and Kevin Greenberg (KDHSL 2006) this Sunday 26 June, where the pair will warm hearts on a winter's morning by performing wonderful melodies from well-loved musicals.

Mark is a well-known chazzan, singer and composer who has performed throughout America, Australia, England, Israel and South Africa. He is loved by Jewish children throughout the world for his performances as Shooby Doob Shloimy and is the winner of the American Jewish Idol singing competition held in St. Louis Missouri.

Kevin is a talented pianist who has performed in Tshwane University of Technology's Rent and Janice Honeyman's pantomine Robinson Crusoe & the Caribbean Pirates. He has performed as an accompanist to Xavier Saer, The Si-anne Project, KoldProduk, Melanie Lowe and Edward Chambers.

This concert is in aid of the Samantha Amy Brest Endowment Fund, which perpetuates the memory of Samantha Amy Brest, a former Davidian who passed away tragically from meningitis at 19 years old.

Sam loved tzedakah, chesed and fashion, and so her mom Felicité was inspired to start this fund to help King David matriculants who need financial assistance for the requirements of their matric dance. The fund is now in its seventh year and has helped dozens of learners celebrate the culmination of their high school career.

Come enjoy a lazy Sunday morning brunch in the garden of the Brests' home, where you can relax to the sounds of celebrated musicals performed by talented former Davidians.

There are fantastic prizes up for grabs courtesy of Sorbet and more, plus the chance to win a two night stay at the Melrose Arch Protea Hotel Fire&Ice!

Warm Your Heart on a Winter’s Morning with Musical Wonders takes place this Sunday 26 June 10:00 for 10:30 at 38B Adrienne Str Sandown Ext 24. There is an entry fee donation of R150pp which includes brunch, entertainment and prizes.
