    To some 28 years sounds like a lifetime, but to me that’s how long it took me to become a nice Jewish girl, after walking out of the Catholic Church as a ten year old.

    That might sound weird, but really it’s not. After World War II many Jewish families became assimilated into Western cultures and religion sometimes as a result of hiding from the Nazi, and similar bigots, or because the war instilled such fear in their psyche that they failed to practice their religion and ultimately their children grew up secular or of another religion.
